Gian-Paolo Mendoza (GP) is Vancouver-based journalist and filmmaker.

He has worked on stories about child welfare in rural B.C., human rights in West Africa, and people with rare mobility disorders, among others. He is also a fellow of the Global Reporting Centre, where he shot and edited part of an investigative series on mental illness in the developing world.

GP graduated from the University of British Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism, where he reported and produced his multimedia thesis project on the modern day evangelism of First Nations communities by Christian churches. He currently works as a video journalist at CBC Vancouver.

His work has appeared on The Tyee, CBC News, Al Jazeera, and the New York Times.
